I went to NHK Broadcasting
Today i went to NHK broadcastng as an excursion. Well, it simply an amazing visitation! What I saw In the first place was the live HD broadcasting imaged into big screen. After that, i visited the place with NHK historical stories. Besides, I also went to 3D theater. It doesn’t needed special glasses.
After all, what for me the most exciting was seeing how NHK brings the news and weather forecast everyday direct to your home TV set.
All in all, i have learned lot of thing during the excursion besides making a lot of friends. I hope that i can go there one more time.

iPhone on SoftBank
A little review of iPhone service which provided SoftBank. I got this information since I joined iPhone community on mixi.jp. Refer this for detailed particulars. (Japanese dude!)
As we all know the iPhone 3G will be released on 2 types of capacity: 8GB and 16GB. The prices are ¥23,000, and ¥34,560 respectively. SoftBank will be the only carrier for iPhone 3G in Japan.
But before that, a brief explaination about buying a mobilephone in Japan. It is totally different from Malaysia. It is more to get service in Japan rather than buying just a mobilephone. Moreover, prepaid service is very rare. The network carriers In Japan are: AU, NTTdocomo, SoftBank, Willcom. Malaysian people who living here love SoftBank anyway
. Whenever you one wants to buy a phone, firstly think the network carrier then the phone. The carrier will provides you with a service plan. On the service plan, the mobilephone’s price will be include as one item on your monthly bill. So you may buy a phone without paying the full price of the phone.
The iPhone
Some people like it, some people don’t (like longfinger women). But it is the world phenomenon. Japanese have wait for it from the first release of iPhone last year. Luckly, iPhone 3G will be released in 75 countries including Japan on July 11, 2008. Not yet for Malaysia, officially. Singapore? Yes. So let’s go with sevice fee on the iPhone in Japan. For ‘White Plan’:
- The basic fee is ¥980 per month.
- Free local voice calling from 0100 to 2100.
- Get “@i.softbank.ne.jp”
- Add ¥5,985 monthly for unlimited web browsing.
I don’t want to review the another Premium Sevice for now as I know i can’t afford that.
Till then, thanks for reading.
Wiimote is now connected to my computer
I just bought a bluetooth adapter at Yodobashi. What i want to do was to connect the wiimote to computer. It’s possible? Well you may be watch on YouTube where Johnny Chung Lee demonstrate numbers of application using Wiimote far from its normal task as a game controller. So let give a try.
What you need are: wiimote, a PC, and a bluetooth adapter.
Install the bluetooth software on your PC. Then, on the bluetooth application, start searching the bluetooth device while pressing 1 and 2 buttons continuously on the wiimote. The application will detect the wiimote as ‘Nintendo RVL-CNT-01′. Now your wiimote is connected to your computer. But what to do with it?
Now all you need is the application that support the wiimote on computer (it also called API, application information interface). This time, i tried WimoteLib v1.5.2. You may find it here. Download and extract. Run the test program. It will running properly if the wiimote connected to the computer.
Pretty cool? Or not so cool? But that is just only the starting point. I need to study the peripheral of the wiimote, the sensor bar, and what kind of data they transmit among each others. OK, good luck for me!
Yeah…!
Playing with gesture is just an excitement. That is can describe how fun playing the ‘excite truck’ on Wii. So what are you waiting for go to amazon.com or amazon.co.jp to grab your own.
But i think it’s not brand new, im out of date, sorry hehe. I had imagined in my form 3, playing racing game on PlayStation using gesture and it really realized now. It happens because of the excelerometer and the Bluetooth connection.
Suddenly, i think about my C gengo (C language programming) on my LInux. I’ve the resource code of making a text file turns upside down. But i really don’t understand how it works. Gimme time to study it okay.
I took a video during 国際交流会 or International Mixi Society (how it be come mixi?!, anyway that is my translation), i think want to edit it, add some recorded sound. I don’t think to make it earlier. I’ve got no idea for it.
After all, i want to edit this wordpress theme, it doesn’t look well. I want to do it on my own, but wordpress got limitation on editing css etc. I’m still thinking of it.
Last but not least, Flash CS3 experimentation is going on as usual. Doing some flipping effect on paper. Writing effect. Also drawing a cartoon using Photoshop with help of Bamboo. See me in cartoon!
Um ahh!
Time is running too fast! Now it’s the end of my 2nd month in Japan, and i feel quite busy.
But somehow i found some time to play this exciting game. Yeah, after 5 days pressuring brain into studying.

And i can’t wait the Apple iPhone entering Japan market in probably next month. iPhone will be in its second generation with 3G compability. Softbank will be the official network for iPhone.
ps: im watching the iPhone application development. Find the video on iTunes 「WWDC 2008 Keynote Address」.
World Wide Linux
I’ve bought a Linux magazine (supplemented with 2 optical discs, 1 CD and 1 DVD) last week. From the DVD, I installed VMware player. The VM player is a software which allows you to run other OS in Windows. After that, from the same disc, I extracted the Linux specialized for VMware player files into my computer’s hard drive. However I found something unpleasant.
I’m working on Linux Ubuntu which can’t properly connect to the Internet. I can’t find the solution yet. I tried both of my PCs. I also read the HELP document on Ubuntu but the guide didn’t work. Would anyone please help me, I’m trying connecting to the Internet because I need to update the Ubuntu for enabling programming compilers.
p/s. i need to copy my post to ubuntu website.
