Finally I eligible to go to Japan

Posted in JAD by hijz on the February 29, 2008

As stated above, without any obstacle, i will fly to Japan on this 20th March 2008 for furthering my studies in Computer Science.  With Allah’s will.

By the way guys, lets learn Japanese idiom from word ‘will’ which i excerpted on answers.com;

  • a will of one’s own    自己の意志
  • as you will    あなたの意志で
  • at will    意(い)のままに
  • heads will roll    首切り(くびきり)があるだろう
  • it will serve    役に立つ, 目的をかなえる
  • that will do    それで十分だ
  • will have none of    拒否(きょ‐ひ)する
  • will not hear of    ~を絶対に認めない
  • with a will    身(からだ)を入れて

For Momento magazine production i need to replace the malfunction pages to its corrections. I will write the correction pages on this comment section. Later.

Our future are determined today

Posted in JAD by hijz on the February 28, 2008

Like the SPM examination result, today’s result also kinda determining one’s future. Today we’ll have our last JAD final examination result after being here for nearly three years. Plus, we’ll also know on what day we’ll depart for Japan. The departures are held in 3 consecutive days which are 21st(fri), 22nd(sat), and 23rd(sun). Actually i don’t mind which day i’ll fly but i only mind that i am able to fly. Lets pray to Allah to get His blessing on what we’re having now and later on.

On the same hand, Momento magazine editing is expected to be its last editing on this following week. We can’t afford such a long postpone, we need to finish it earlier. Somehow i want to argue why the upper management gave us last minute addition, while we should focusing on mistake correction. Isn’t that called something like troublesome!

Let me jot down the last minute addition; the top 4 students for interview (plus 2 students more) and take picture of UNISEL management persons. On top of that, the team Momento is needed to create presentation on the graduation day, and lately people giving ideas about making video on how the magazine is made. I also think like that, but just wait and see what will happen after this.

My space in Japan

Posted in JAD by hijz on the February 25, 2008

house-plan.jpgTokyo is the the forth world’s most expensive city on cost of living for last year (2007).

Once, i asked Ani Senpai, about a space (or easily described as a room) in Japan for living as i soon studying in Japan on this April (if i pass the last examination and approve by senates). From words my senior, the space is quite large 6 * 2 jyo (the unit for a Japanese tatami(mat)) plus 4.5 jyo in the kitchen. The room is located in Watanabe-so, Hachiouji, in Tokyo. Lets do maths, in total i get 16.5 jyo (click the thumbnail to enlarge the room’s plan). According to her again, the room is suitable for a two persons’ living. But it also reasonable to load only one person inside.

Living cost in Japan is expensive as well as its rent; about 36,000 yen or rm1,204.01 per month. If i living in Malaysia with such of money i even get bungalow in a village. Please note that the amount is for one person living. If two person live in there, each of them has to pay 24,000 yen or rm802.66. So i think it’s better to marry earlier so that i can save up my money, and not being lonesome in such of huge space haha… only, just find the ‘right’ one.

Unfortunately, she hesitated to send me pictures of her house, so i tried asking another senior who also live in the same area with Ani Senpai. Thanks to Zafran Senpai for pictures of the house (inside the house, rooms are separated) in Hachioji, Tokyo.

As you can see, the house is made from wood. Therefore, when the weather is hot, the inside also hot. As well when weather is cold, the inside also cold. For sure, i dont make any black and white agreement yet so i can’t confirm that i can get there…

HD DVD is now dead

Posted in Computer Science by hijz on the February 22, 2008

San Francisco – It’s official: HD DVD is dead. Toshiba said Tuesday that it will soon cease to develop, manufacture or market HD DVD disc drives. And everyone–even the ill-fated next-generation video disc format’s chief backer–stands to gain.

That is mean Sony’s Blu Ray is being the sole format for HD generation. Consequently, all HD DVD contents producers have to drop HD DVD format for rival Blu Ray from Sony. Sony has vindicated that the strategy of giving license to others company to make Blu Ray stand alone players is work. I think i might be a blessing of not permitting produce porn movie using Blu Ray. The another major factor is the PS3, which the cheapest Blu Ray player on the market.

I strongly believe Sony has learned something from its lose of BetaMax against VHS long time ago. So lets watching the market after the dead of HD DVD.

Momentoming Myself

Argh!! I’m still staying up for working on ‘momento’: editing, associating, designing, yawing(sometimes :) ), finding links… sometimes looking people playing PS2, and listening to radio. Accidentally, you’ve seen the latest momento’s segment pages on ’students’ profiles’. It’s inspired by things that i’ve learned before, such pixelate, glass shadow, and gathering pictures in a dark mode. So wait to see the full printed version okay.

Finally it’s over…

Posted in JAD by hijz on the February 18, 2008

I would like to express grateful Allah, with His blessing i’m still here alive. My parents, my family members, my teachers, my friends, my housemates, and everybody who knows me, thanks a lot.
Finally it’s over the last examination in Malaysia, and the it would be the first step toward challenging life in Japan. I expect it will be difficult journey there as Japan is will be my first foreign country i’ve ever been.

A little bit of Algorithm on C

Visual Algorithm software

tanjyunso-to.png

Actually the Visual Algoritm software is bundled with the book ‘Algorithm and Data Structure’ (アルゴリズムとデータ構造) but, well sensei had pull it out from us. If someone want to try the limited version of the software do visit this link. Notice: that’s only the limited version.

Stack and Queue

Basically (without technical terms), stack is described as first come last served, while queuestack.jpg is first come first served. So in the real live, we absolutely use the second one. Imagine if stack is being used in ATM, so the first person coming has to wait for the last person. Crazy.

By the way i attached the real use of stack and queue running on c language.

Only 1 more subject remains, but i can feel the excitement of going to Japan which only 38 days away (and still counting…). By the way, i would like to thank Malaysian citizens for paying their taxes. :)

japan.jpgAmong JAD students, i’m the only one (and lonely too, but thankful as i have senpai(senior)) who take Computer Science for pursuing studies in Tokyo University of Technology,(東京工科大学) Japan. Basically, i chose CS because i would like to enjoy on learning IT, computer, programming, etc and i want to employ with IT company, which i probably earn a lucrative pay… and so on, besides having skill in Japanese language where i can make business with them, you’ll never know bro!

Actually i got a big responsibility of making our magazine nice on your eyes.moment.jpg But, i’m afraid that my computer is not tough enough, sometime i have to wait for several minutes to render a page. My computer running on a humble 1.6 GHz Centrino and 512MB of RAM. Beforehand, i want to apologize for waiting so long.

I terribly want a new notebook, but i don’t have enough money. (;_・)

QRIO – The Entertainment Robot

Do you know what substitute to the AIBO’s production suspension, the answer is the QRIO. The small type 2-leg running robot was introduced on November 2000. It was formerly named as Sony Dream Robot (SDR) and still in researching progress. And i have no idea when the QRIO will be marketed. Let see the video of QRIO.

And that’s why we want to go to Japan as Japanese keep making cool things.

You can also opt to squarish matrices image (see picture below, and the last picture, the original 60×50 pixel). Want to try on your picture, click here.
