My days with malicious viruses

Posted in Virus by hijz on the December 29, 2007
Firstly welcome to my first edition of my blog. I’m basically write about amusing tech inside the World as well personal findings and experiences. Recently I’ve got trouble due to viruses, so let’s take a useful lesson here!I’m not expected to be affected by virus on my both cellphone handphone and computer, as I’ve took a good care of them. But unfortunately, it’s true, a little bit of carelessness leads to worst circumstance. Let’s learn from mistake, or at least I’m not repeating them again.

Foremost was the infection on my quite-old-but-still-lucky-to-have-it Nokia 3230. Actually, I’ve got a notification of John Doe sending me a message via bluetooth and I accepted it. I received a .sis file to my in-box message. I was intuitively know that probably kind of a viruses. But, stupidly too bad, I installed the .sis file. Wonder what happen, the phone automatically switch on and off by itself in interval minutes. How did I solve that? I send it to the shop and reformatting it. It done just fine but with loss of some personal data (contact nos, messages etc).

Secondly was my laptop computer. On recent holiday, I left my laptop on during a night while I was sleeping. Without my consciousness, my younger sister put a stupid MP3 player on my laptop for transferring music files. I think she also don’t know that stupid MP3 is a virus-carrier. At last that laptop had been infected by a virus. I must say it is a strong virus because it disables task manager, help-support, regedit functions. It’s darn annoying virus. How do I solve that? On the progress. I bought a ext HD and back-up my indispensable data. After that reformatting the laptop’s HD. I hope this way will solve the prob. Let’s wait and see.

Have any bad experience dealing with virus? I like to listen lah…
